I have just watched one of the best episodes of ‘how to look good naked’. This is a TV programme that really empowers women, and tonight it encouraged a dozen ladies to enjoy their bodies. The presenter got a group of female workmates together, emphasised the positive, and enabled them to pose naked for a photo shoot. Then he got the one woman who was the subject of the programme to dress fashionably, accessorised by a beautiful Ted Baker Handbag. I have been looking at the rest of the Mulberry Bag collection and actually there are a few that I find really quite badly designed. The Mulberry Roxanne, for example. I know this is considered one of the bags that really put Designer Handbags on the map, so to speak. But to me it is just a sop to the people who want to cover themselves in bling. The understated English style of Mulberry bags is a favoutrite of mine and I am glad to see that this brand is becoming well respected around the world. The Mulberry Bayswater is a sell-out at net-a-porter but you can still buy it direct from Mulberry or, better still, from one of the other discount houses like Boutique Marcella. This classic handbag comes with three inside pockets, a bronze front lock with padlock and bronzed feet to prevent damage to the leather if you put the bag down. I would keep it in my arms for massage therapy, but each to their own. Those feet area good idea to keep the bag clean, though. Mulberry is known for the use of individually tanned and grained leather, giving each bag its own unique look. This cute Designer bag retails at £495 (that is probably about $3 million US at the latest exchange rates). However, you should be able to find it for under $800 online. Watch out for fakes being sold as the real thing before you part with your cash.  The Mulberry Bayswater has been copied by eBay fraudsters, if you find a Mulberry Bayswater offered for anything less than 75% of retail, it is likely to be a fake.

One trend resulting from recession fever is the growing demand for designer bag rental. Lakme Fashion Week, which took place last week, was conceived and created with a vision to bring India’s young designers into the global fashion world. The event takes place twice a year. Successful initiatives like ‘Emerging Designer Category’ and ‘GenNext’ offer a platform for promising young talent. Both Lakme and IMG have been pivotal to the success of the Lakme India Fashion Week over the previous seasons. It seems that Our Posh is taking her commercial relationship with Marc Jacobs pretty seriously but at least we have a few more examples of a change in the look over recent weeks. This time it was an oversized pink Hermes Birkin Bag. But wait! Is this the same Designer Handbag that she teamed with a pink Handkerchief dress last October? Victoria has at least ten bags from this sought after range, I would like to see a few more of them on view - or does she prefer to go home and look at them neatly arranged in their little dust bags? One of the most irritating bag designs of the past year has to be the witty bag designed by Anya Hindmarch, named “I am not a plastic bag”. Not that I am in any way criticising Anya’s witty design. This bag sold out its first edition within minutes and thousands of women are now proclaining their green fashion credentials as they proudly display this reusable bag while out shopping. Sure, they still use dozens of plastic carrier bags to carry the shopping to the 4×4 / SUV, and then drive less than a mile back to their house - but it is the thought that counts. Read more »

Here is another shot of La Beckham soaking up the California sun in that eponymous pink dress, teamed with an impossibly large Hermes Birkin Bag that only serves to make her look even slimmer. If only every mother of three could get that look every day! On anyone else we would say the clash of the two shades of pink was terrible but somehow she gets away with it! Maybe there was a practical reason for choosing an oversize bag as this Hermes Birkin would accommodate most laptop computers with ease.

Victoria Beckham has the opportunity, and certainly the inclination, to live the fashion dream to which most of us aspire. So why has she recently been seen carrying the same Hermes Bag and wearing the same Marc Jacobs Dress. Does she not understand her duties as a celebrity fashion icon? Constant variety is what her audience are seeking, and finally she seems to have realised as this week Posh was carrying a Michael Kors Rehearsal Satchel. Maybe they are now paying her to be seen in public carrying their Designer Handbags?

Gucci, Fendi, Prada - the Italian Designers command a premium price for their skills and of course the ‘Made in Italy’ label. But, like any other manufacturer, the Italian Designers have looked for ways to cut their costs. One of these is to outsource manufacture to China. They can get the majority of the bag cut, sewn and assembled before bringing it back to Italy for the finishing touches and the coveted label.
