Gucci, Fendi, Prada – the Italian Designers command a premium price for their skills and of course the ‘Made in Italy’ label. But, like any other manufacturer, the Italian Designers have looked for ways to cut their costs. One of these is to outsource manufacture to China. They can get the majority of the bag cut, sewn and assembled before bringing it back to Italy for the finishing touches and the coveted label. One example is Coach, whose bags are going through that process.
