Lighting up
I moved house six months ago and that has meant that we have been obliged to shop for things like light fixtures instead of frittering away all my spare cash on handbags. A quick calculation on my part and I worked out that there were at least a dozen different home lighting fitments needed inside the house – and that’s not counting outside lights for the garden. This can cost a fortune if you have designer tastes, like my other half. I have tried to explain to him that it is not the same as investing in my handbags and clothes, and we need to be economical on the home front to allow for other essentials. sainsbury
This leads to a fair amount of conflict so we have found the best way to defuse the situation (!) is to buy the lights online. It saves money like for like, and it stops you being diverted by something you see in the shop and buy on impulse. Having said that, it is a little strange that I was the one who chose chandeliers for the kitchen – but they were a bargain, I keep telling myself.
