Mulberry Bayswater in Rouge Noir

This Mulberry Bayswater model is crafted from rouge noir crinkled patent leather, with a front turnlock fastening and a silver padlock. All the metal hardware on the bag is silver in colour. It has a rouge noir crinkled leather tag that hangs down from one handle. Inside, the Bayswater has two pockets and one zipped compartment, with leather belt straps to adjust the size.

Mulberry lists the colour of this bag as rouge noir, but it is really more of a berry colour. I gave the Rouge Noir Mulberry Bayswater at the Mulberry shop in London’s New Bond Street.  Unlike many of Mulberry’s leather bag this special edition Bayswater needs no special care.  The patent leather is soft and supple, it does not need polishing or leather cream and of course it simply shrugs the rain off.  Inside the bag is lined with rich soft berry coloured suede.  Definitely my favourite Mulberry bag this year.

Patent leather, like all leather, will crease as it ages, but this only enhances its appearance.

This is an investment piece that will see you smartly from this season to the next – rouge noir is a great colour and a refreshing change from black.  Mulberry has found another way of persuading Bayswater fans to reach for their credit cards.
