Packing

In the teeth of a recession based around the housing market, you would think it would be simple to get a competitive moving quote, wouldn’t you? That is what I thought when I recently needed to move our possessions from London to Sussex.  I naively picked up the local yellow pages and rang around – the first company told me they could come round and quote in two weeks’ time.  Undeterred, I looked down the list and called another of the local moving companies listed.  They said they could come round the next day, and they did – but their quote took a week to arrive and cost double the amount I expected.

Have a look online, I decided. I’m not sure why I didn’t think of that earlier.  This time I had more success, and I discovered plenty of budget van lines who were happy to quote for the job and they were available when I wanted them.  Even if you are moving the whole contents of your home, budget van lines can still help you and they have all the guarantees of the bigger firms.  The firm I chose were very good and they were not even phased by the dozens of handbags that form a big chunk of my possessions.
